Fall HSPT Prep · For 8th Graders

Confidence on test day, built over eight weeks.

PEACE prepares Catholic-school students for the High School Placement Test with format-specific practice, a full mock exam, and the steady confidence to show what they truly know.

Taught by experienced Catholic junior-high teachers and Catholic school leaders.

8-week course

Weekly classes that build steadily toward test day.

Starts with a diagnostic

A full practice test pinpoints each student’s strengths and gaps.

Ends with a mock HSPT

Real timing and format, so nothing on test day is a surprise.

Classes capped at 20

First come, first served — registration closes when a class fills.

Why PEACE

More than a review course.

A good elementary education is the best foundation. But nerves and an unfamiliar format can hide a student’s real ability — and that’s exactly the gap PEACE closes.

Test-specific practice

Students work real HSPT question types every class and rehearse the timing, so the format feels familiar long before test day.

Confidence building

Goal-setting, self-assessment, and encouragement are built into every session — because anxiety shouldn’t get in the way of what a student knows.

Rooted in faith

Reflection and prayer are woven through the PEACE approach, keeping the whole experience calm, grounded, and encouraging.

How It Works

A clear path from first class to test day.

1

Diagnostic test

We start by finding each student’s strengths and the areas to focus on.

2

Targeted review

Eight weeks across all five HSPT sections, with practice matched to the diagnostic.

3

Full mock exam

A timed, full-length HSPT on the final day under real test conditions.

4

Test day

Students arrive familiar with the format and confident in what they know.

About the test

What is the HSPT?

The High School Placement Test is a one-time exam for 8th graders entering Catholic high schools. Schools use it for admission, course placement, and — in some cases — scholarship decisions.

It’s a lot to face once. Familiarity with the format and timing makes all the difference, and that’s what the PEACE course is built to provide.

Our Teachers

The people in the room matter most.

“High-energy, highly skilled Catholic junior-high teachers — the kind who know how to reach a nervous 8th grader.”

Many of our instructors are graduates of the University of Notre Dame’s ACE program or Loyola University’s LU-CHOICE — master’s programs that place gifted educators in Catholic schools. Supporting these teachers with meaningful additional income is part of the PEACE mission.
