The structure, start to finish.
Diagnostic test
Students begin with a full practice test that pinpoints strengths and the areas to focus on, so class time goes where it matters.
Weekly classes × 8
Each session pairs curriculum review with HSPT-format practice under real timing conditions, plus PEACE confidence activities: goal-setting, self-assessment, journaling, and prayer.
Full mock HSPT
On the final day, students sit a complete, timed mock exam — so nothing about test day is unfamiliar.
Every HSPT section, covered.
The HSPT is a 298-question multiple-choice test in five timed sections, about 2.5 hours in total. Here’s what each section asks — and how we prepare students for it. [verify timings/question counts per section if you’d like them shown]
Verbal Skills
Synonyms, antonyms, logic, analogies, and verbal classifications. Students learn to recognize how each question type is asked — choosing the “best answer” for synonyms and antonyms, and finding patterns and drawing conclusions for logic, analogies, and classifications.
Quantitative Skills
Number series, geometric and non-geometric comparisons, and number manipulations. These questions reward pattern recognition and mental math — skills we build through repeated, timed practice in the HSPT’s exact format.
Reading
Two components: reading passages with comprehension questions, and vocabulary definitions. Time management is critical here, so timed reading is practiced across multiple sessions, each focused on a different skill — main ideas, characterization, and interpreting context clues.
Mathematics
Arithmetic, elementary algebra, and basic geometry, plus word-problem solving. Many students haven’t practiced some of these concepts in years — the course reviews essential material not just from 8th grade but from earlier grades too.
Language
Punctuation, capitalization, grammar, spelling, usage, and composition. Students practice spotting errors quickly and confidently in the multiple-choice format the HSPT uses.
What students receive.
Course materials
Structured practice materials organized by section, used in class and for at-home review between sessions.
Diagnostic & mock results
Feedback from the opening diagnostic and the final mock exam, so families can see growth across the eight weeks.
Small classes
Every class is capped at 20 students, keeping the attention personal and the encouragement real.
