This class provides comprehensive instruction and practice of the writing skills necessary to succeed in the high school classroom. The class will help students learn and improve techniques for:
A) Completely and successfully answering essay prompts across all subjects, with concentrations in summary essays, argumentative essays (including compare and contrast), and analytical essays.
B) Understand and practice all steps for writing a complete literary analysis, including developing thesis statements, outlining, providing strong evidence and cohesive analysis, using higher level vocabulary, effective transitions, varied sentence structure, and proper quotations and citations.
Class Dates: Summer 2014 – 9 Sessions over 3 weeks from 3:00-5:30pm
- Tuesday through Thursday – June 16, 17 and 18
- Tuesday through Thursday – June 23, 24, and 25
- Monday through Wednesday – June 29, 30 and July 1
The cost of this 9-session program is $550. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due at the time of registration with the balance due on the first day of class.
